SAILING ON MAUI

IT DOESN’T GET ANY BETTER!

There’s nothing quite like enjoying dinner with a sunset on the horizon (the kind that feels straight out of a movie), while soaking in some of the most stunning views on Earth—especially when you’re in Hawaii.

Pick your departure: Kaʻanapali or Māʻalaea?

If you’re leaving from Kaʻanapali Beach, you’ll be treated to sights of the beautiful islands of Lānaʻi and Molokaʻi, along with a front-row view of the famous Black Rock (Puʻu Kekaʻa), where a traditional sunset cliff diving ceremony sends divers plunging 30 feet into the ocean. Keep in mind, you’ll board the boat right from the beach—so be ready to get your feet a little sandy and wet as you hop on and off!

Or, if you’re setting off from Māʻalaea Harbor, you’ll enjoy peaceful views of the Maui coastline and mountains, along with sights of Lānaʻi and the iconic Molokini Crater. Since you’ll be boarding from a harbor, getting on and off the boat is super easy. You can take your time, and there’s no sand or splashing—just a smooth, dry start to your magical evening.

IS IT TRICKY TO GET ON AND OFF THE BOAT IN KA’ANAPALI?

Honestly, not at all. Even our older parents had no trouble. The crew will guide you on exactly when to get on and off, and they’re right there to assist if needed.

NOT SURE WHAT TO WEAR SAILING?

We usually recommend wearing something you don’t mind getting wet. But since you’re sailing in Maui and this type of trip doesn’t really require going into the water, go ahead and dress up! This is your chance to wear something stylish and snap those dreamy photos you’ve always wanted!

And don’t ever forget to bring sunglasses! 😀

KNOW THIS BEFORE YOU GO
  • Take some motion sickness medicine just in case, even if you don’t usually get motion sick. You don’t want to miss a second of this. Try this iPhone trick to take photos without feeling sick!
  • BRING A LIGHT JACKET! Just in case or to be comfortable. Weather changes fast and you want to be prepared for rain and wind.
  • We highly recommend checking out our “What to Bring in Hawaii” guide to help you prepare!
